The Story City Trees Forever annual tree sale will be held Saturday May 6th. The trees will be sold on a first-come basis with a limit of two per household. After 11 am residents may purchase additional trees if any remain.
Story City businesses are encouraged to stay open until 6:00 pm on the second Thursday of the month. The theme for May's Extended Hours event is "Shop Story City You May Find a Bargain".
Story City’s carousel was built in 1913 by the Herschell-Spillman Company of North Tonawonda, New York. It is one of approximately 100 antique wooden carousels operating in the US today. It is a menagerie of dogs, roosters and pigs – plus horses, benches, a spinning tub and a Wurlitzer organ.
