TREES FOREVER 23rd. ANNUAL TREE SALE
SATURDAY APRIL 27th.
Mark your calendars for Saturday April 27th. 2019 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. Story City Trees Forever will be holding their 23rd. Annual Tree Sale at the former Lone Tree Nursery Site.
Each tree will be priced at $45 (a small portion of the actual value) and sold on a first come basis with two trees per household limit until 11 a.m. After 11 a.m. you may purchase additional trees until all are sold.
All trees must be planted within the City Limits of Story City, either on private property or city property. Anyone wanting to plant on city property (area outside of the sidewalk) will need to obtain a permit at least one week prior to planting time; permits are free and available at city hall. The reason for the permits being required is to give the City time to check for underground utility locations prior to the tree being planted.
This project is being made possible through a grant from Black Hills Energy, matching funds from the City of Story City and administrated through the Trees Forever Organization.
All money raised on this project, will be used to plant and care for more trees in our community.
Once again, this year, a large variety of trees, large, medium, and small as listed below will be available for sale.
With the Emerald Ash Borer now taking it’s toll on our Ash trees here in Story City, it is even more important that we plant many varieties of trees, throughout our community. Now is a great time to plant a new tree on your property for Energy Efficiency, beauty and increased property value.
Check the Story City Herald again the week of the sale to see if any of the tree selection listed below has changed due to the Nursery not being able to ship certain trees due to the late winter making the nursery have some substitutions.
